IL & FL Licenses

  • * Veterans or Active Duty only $95.00 for 8 or 16 hours
  • Get certified with both Illinois and Florida conceal and carry license. These licenses combined cover 38 states for conceal and carry.
  • Learn the Basics of Marksmanship (you may be very surprised at how this improves your shooting, even if you have been at it for years.) You will learn more than the basics of firearm safety in the home, in the vehicle and on your person. Learn how to clean and care for your handgun. Get an understanding of ammunition and basic ballistics. Learn how to pick the best gun for you and your situation. Become familiarized with semi-automatics and both single and double action revolver. You will learn to shoot well. If you’re already a shooter, we’ll make you better.
  • We have a very accomplished attorney, that is highly certified by the NRA and IL. State Police, on DVD for the law portion of the class. Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons attends most classes to speak on The Lawful Use of Deadly Force.
  • We have great range, covered top, bottom and three sides. No standing in the mud and snow. No baking in the hot sun. We have three instructors at most classes. They have over 120 years of handgun marksmanship and tactical training. You will have fun. Class will be held at the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club.

Tactical Pistol

Advanced
$150/8-hour course
  • The goal of this class is to instill a strong level of confidence in carrying and using the firearm in self defense. Upon completion of this class, the student will have more knowledge and skills than 99.9% of all other concealed carriers, nationwide.
  • 7 hours with a 1 hour lunch break. Total: 8 hours
  • You will need your handgun, holster, concealing garment, or purse, extra magazines or speed loaders and 300 rounds of ammo.
  • The goal of this class is to instill a strong level of confidence in carrying and using the firearm in self defense. Upon completion of this class, the student will have more knowledge and skills than 99.9% of all other concealed carriers, nationwide.
  • Drills and scenarios:, Learn to safely draw and re-holster., Instinct shooting, Point shooting, Aimed shooting, Front sight drills, Failure/malfunction drills, Pivot drills, Extreme close quarters drills, Edge and blunt object threats, Extreme weapons clearing techniques, Accuracy drills…..out to 50 yards, Shooting with one/two hands, Support hand shooting, Walking laterally while shooting, Walking towards the target while shooting, Gaining distance from the target while shooting, Shooting from cover and concealment, Firing from various body positions. Kneeling, squatting, prone, etc., Figure 5 drill on steel target, Figure 8 drill on steel target, Engaging multiple threats/ multiple shots, Threat prioritizing, Using a vehicle for cover and concealment, Engaging multiple threats in a “parking lot scenario”, Firing from the vehicle in the “carjacking scenario”
  • Trigger Talent is the only school in the area that teaches, from a real vehicle, with live fire, these drills. Class will be held at the Range.

Introduction to Handguns

Women
$50/class
  • Three hours of classroom and 30 mins of live fire. The live fire portion is optional.
  • Learn how to be familiar and comfortable with all types of handguns.
  • Learn the NRA Pistol Safety Lessons and Rules.
  • How to load, shoot and maintain your firearm.
  • Basics on handgun concealment for women.
  • If you don’t have a weapon, we have them for you at no charge except for the ammunition used.
  • Learn from the best.
  • Instructors for this class are Mark Maggos and Allison Vandersand.

Introduction to Handguns

Youth
$50/class
  • This introduction to firearms will include the basics of safety and firing a pistol, rifle and shotgun.
  • The course material is designed to give new shooters a chance to learn how to handle and fire each of these firearms safely. All live fire exercises are optional.
  • The fee is $50.00 per student and a parent must be present to sign a release form and to transport youths to the range on Westwind Dr.
  • We can carpool as many as possible.
  • The classroom portion will be held in the dining room of The Sportsmen’s Club, promptly at 8:00 am.
  • Coffee, soft-drinks and water will be provided. Adults DO NOT have to participate in the classroom portion, but may be necessary to drive to the range. We can figure that out at the beginning of class.
