Course Overview

The Illinois Concealed Carry Renewal Course is a 3-hour training program required every five years before renewing your Illinois Concealed Carry License.

During the course, students will review:

• Illinois firearm laws and updates
• Concealed carry responsibilities
• Use of force laws
• Situational awareness and conflict avoidance
• Current legal considerations for concealed carry holders

Students will also complete the required live-fire qualification.

Range Qualification

Students must successfully complete the Illinois State Police required live-fire qualification:

• 30 rounds fired
• Distances of 5, 7, and 10 yards
• Minimum passing score required by Illinois State Police standards

• A reliable handgun
• At least 30 rounds of factory ammunition
• Eye and ear protection
